CHGB has undertaken about 70 projects since founded, in which about 40 projects is now being deployed. All these projects are kinds of National Natural Science Foundation of China, 863, 973, National Natural Science Foundation of Beijing and cooperation with universities, research centers, hospitals, international institutes and biomedical companies.
All projects are focusing on below mentioned:
1. Human Genome Plan. CHGB has taken on 1% HGP Genome Sequencing (terminal of p-arm on chromosome 3).
2. Important microbiology whole genome sequencing, such as Shigella Flexneri2a, Leptospira Interrogans Serovar Icterhaemorrhagiae, Xanthomonas Campestris pv.Campestris.
3. Collecting genetic resources. Up to now, CHGB has collected about 30,000 samples which are now put into use for genomics and proteomics research.
4. Genomics of complicated diseases, such as psychopathy，neuropathy，cancer, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus。
5. Identification and functional research of hereditary disease genes. CHGB has identified mutant DSPP gene of hereditary opalescent dentin, gene of childhood of absence epilepsy, gene of dilated cardiomyopathy, gene of erythermalgia cooperating with hospitals.

11. Gene drug screening. CHGB uses siRNA technique to found drug screening platform, at the same time, screens drug targets on functional genomics platform.
